When I won a large sum of money when playing the lottery a few years ago, I decided to invest some of it in real estate. My dad used to always tell me that bricks and mortar where a great way of protecting a large sum of money. Unfortunately, my father wasn't a real estate expert so his advice did not go beyond this very simple statement. I didn't know what to do for the best so I contacted a real estate agency. They were really great and they helped me to plan my property investments wisely. I started this blog so I could offer advice to others.
Clients looking for real estate agents want an agent who can sell their homes or find them homes as quickly as possible. As such, the real estate agent has to build their brand as a person who gets things done. This article discusses how real estate agents can market themselves and build their brand.
Build your reputation
Clients will always enquire about a real estate agent's reputation before they hire him or her. Some of the ways to build your reputation are listed below.
Utilise new media
The internet is one of the best places for real estate agents to market their products. However, not everyone in your network is looking for a home. Therefore, you must be very creative about what kind of content you post on your social media pages. For instance, you could post home improvement tips or advice about how clients can negotiate mortgages and new types of property on the market. Also, engage your followers and answer their queries even if they choose to work with other real estate agents. In such a way, they may begin to trust you and refer their friends to work with you. Observe caution as too much content could irritate some of your followers.
Follow up
As a real estate agent, you should know that your business thrives on relationships. Once you conclude business with a client, do not be afraid to call them and ask if they love the property they purchased. If you had an agreement with the developer to make a few renovations, ask the client if the renovations were done. Once you show concern about your clients, they will want to work with you again.
Ask for referrals
Some real estate agents are a bit shy to ask their clients for a referral. However, many clients would not mind referring their friends and family to work with their real estate agents. As such, every time you help a client buy or sell a property, ask him or her to recommend a friend to you.
Real estate agents wishing to grow their brand and market themselves should build their reputation, utilise new media, conduct follow-ups, and ask for referrals.
